In our earlier post (Change of price Index) we have informed that Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar has released new base year of Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) from present 2001 to 2016 after a gap of 15 years. Due to this now CPI IW data is released on the basis of new Base year and conversion factor is 2.88%.
CPI IW data for the month of October and November 2020 is already released that is 119.5 and 119.9 respectively.
While viewing the previsous trend it is clear Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for October, 2020 increased by 1.4 points and stood at 119.5 . It increased by 1.19 per cent between September and October, 2020. On assumptions if there is an increase in CPI for the month of Dec 2020, keeping in view of going increase in prices of commonly required items , the DA slab will have good jump result higher DA rate.
