Change of the Base year for Consumer Price Index for Industrial workers from 2001 to 2016
Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar has released new base year of Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) from present 2001 to 2016 after a gap of 15 years.
The new series of CPI (IW) with base 2016-100 will replace the existing series with base 2001-100.
Earlier to this revision, the series were also revised from the year 1944 to 1949;1949 to 1960; 1960 to 1982 and 1982 to 2001.
The linking factor or multiplying factor of new series 2016=100 to old series of CPI-IW (2001=100) is 2.88.
Calculation of Expected DA payable from November 2020 for Bankers
Calcualtion for September on the basis of 2016 =100 base year
Conversion factor is 2.88
CPI IW announced is 118
Hence 118 * 2.88 = 339.84
On the basis of 10th Bipartite Settlement : 0.10% per slab over 4440 points
